Shabbos Accommodations

When patients are hospitalized their greatest comfort is the presence of a family member at their bedside. When hospitalized over Shabbos or Yom Tov, Bikur Cholim Partners in Health, provides Shabbos House/Rooms at Good Samaritan Hospital, Nyack Hospital and Westchester Medical Center, with sleeping and eating accommodations for the comfort of the family in their time of crisis.

Each Shabbos Room is maintained scrupulously with fresh delicious food, challahs, cakes, cholents and kugels kept hot on a special shabbos hot plate. Freshly made beds with amenities that include robes, books and even toothbrushes, help create an atmosphere of warmth and caring.

All the thoughtful touches help make a stressful situation bearable allowing the family to focus their full attention on the patient be it a parent, a grandparent, a spouse or a child.
