Transportation Services

Through the use of our daily bus service to Rockland and Westchester County hospitals and the assistance of our dedicated volunteers, this essential service is provided for patients requiring transportation to doctors and hospitals. These patients, many of them seniors who have no one to whom they can turn and others whose condition or treatments make them incapable of going alone, depend not only on the rides to and from medical facilities but on the support and caring provided with that ride.

Dozens of calls come in daily requesting transportation, some for local appointments, Good Samaritan, Helen Hayes, Nyack Hospitals or to one of the many Rockland doctors while other requests are for long distance transportation into Westchester, Manhattan, New Jersey, etc. Some of these requests can be met by our own bus service but many others require the assistance of our devoted volunteers.

The needs of the callers vary from occasional transportation to those undergoing long term treatments and require transportation as often as 3-4 times a week. Whatever the needs may be, they are undertaken with a determination to ensure the comfort and well being of the patient.
